Are you effective and efficient?

Effectiveness means "doing the right thing".

Efficiency means "doing the thing right".

Effectiveness and efficiency are the two main things required for Success.

Effectiveness is knowing whether we should be doing something at all in the first place. For most of us there is a disconnect between what we want to achieve and what we are doing. There is a disconnect between the thoughts in our minds and the actions that we take.

Efficiency is about doing something using the minimum of time, energy and money. We may be doing the right thing but not efficiently.

Not being effective and not being efficient are the two major pitfalls in which most of us knowingly or unknowingly fall into.

A person cannot be successful without having these two characteristics. Hence all of us must endeavour to bring these two magical qualities into our life. Then our life will change for the better as if touched by a magic wand.

Some people may be born effective and efficient. But for most of us it is a long uphill struggle.

Effectiveness requires that we clarify our goals for life.

Efficiency is about focusing on the goal.

Our only competition is with the person that we were yesterday.
